What is this feature?
If you are an AOL customer, TrueSwitch will send a fax on your behalf to AOL informing them that you would like to cancel your account and that your billing should be stopped. You are responsible for making sure your account gets cancelled. TrueSwitch will email you instructions for cancelling service with MSN, Earthlink, Compuserve and SBC.

I recently signed up for service with Internet Express, but I am not sure when I should cancel my previous ISP account.
After you use TrueSwitch service to copy your data and notify your contacts about your new e-mail address you should consider canceling your old ISP account. However, if you are using the e-mail forwarding feature, you would need to keep your account open for 30 days in order to make sure that this will work before canceling your old ISP account.

How long will it take to cancel my current account from the time I run the TrueSwitch Account Cancellation service (only applies to AOL customers)?
Trueswitch will send the Account Cancellation Notification to your Internet Service Provider within 24 hours. AOL should reply by e-mail to your billing address within 72 hours with a confirmation concerning your account cancellation request. If you do not receive this confirmation, please call the Billing phone number provided to you.

How will I know for sure if the Account Cancellation service worked?
You should receive a letter at your billing address confirming your request to cancel your account. If you do not hear from AOL within 1 week of submitting your request to cancel, please contact them directly as soon as possible.
