Instructions for Multiple Computer users on a Network (for clients with a FlowPoint or Netopia DSL Router)

If you are a business DSL client, then you most likely have a FlowPoint or Netopia Router. It converts the DSL signal coming from your wall jack to an ethernet signal that you either plug into a Hub or you use the internal router to connect your computers. This allows your computers to share access to the Internet and access to information between computers.

To get multiple computers on a Network or LAN to share Internet access, they must be assigned discrete Public or Private IP Addresses. You will need to know those addresses to complete this set up. If you are not sure what your IP Addresses are, call Internet Express' tech support (888-FAST DSL) and ask for them. Then continue to the next step.

1.

  • Bring up the ZoneAlarm Control Window.
  • Click on the Security button.

2.

  • When this drop down box appears, set the Local slider to Medium or Low.
  • Then click on the Advanced button.

3.

  • The window to your right will appear.
  • Click on the the checkbox next to your network card (The example to your right is for an Intel PRO PCI Adapter. Your network card may be different.)
  • Then click OK and you are done.
