Hardware
consists of a specially designed 24" X 36" satellite
dish and a satellite modem that is placed near your computer.
The dish is mounted outside and is focused toward the southern
sky at a geosynchronous satellite orbiting the earth approximately
22,000 miles above the equator. Information from the Internet
is beamed down to you from that satellite and your information
is beamed back over the same system. No middleman, no cables
or wires (except those connecting the system to your computer),
just a direct connection between you, space and the Internet.
